Darren began his career in the multi-family industry as a lowly resident assistant at Arizona State University. There he learned important leadership lessons like how to win friends and influence people while pouring their beer down the sink.
In 2007 he joined Verde Apartment Communities as the Vice President of Operations where he created an institutional level management company and brought 5,000 units in house overseeing 13 lease-ups and one acquisition. Prior to Verde he was Regional Director for Firstworthing Companies (now Inland American Communities) and oversaw properties in California, Arizona, Colorado and Texas. Mr. Williams holds a BS in Political Science from Arizona State University and received his MBA from ASU as well.
During his career Mr. Williams has helped to acquire, build and manage over Two Billion dollars in Multi-Family real estate. His passion remains focused on building the very best teams. Today, Portico manages over 7,300 units throughout 33 communities nationwide, with focus expansion in the metropolitan areas of Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and the greater Southwest.
Vice President of Operations - Support Services
Robyn joined the property management industry in 2007 and has served in various roles both on-site and at the corporate level since then. As Vice President of Operations - Support Services, Robyn focuses on all property operations including process implementation, management transitions, support services, software, and training. Ms. Killion served 3 ½ years with Verde Apartment Communities in multiple roles, including Community Manager, Regional Resource Manager, and brief stint as Director of Training. Robyn specializes in identifying and correcting the weaknesses on troubled properties and process implementation. She has a true passion for building and growing exceptional on-site teams.
Prior to joining Portico, Robyn served as a Regional Portfolio Manager for Wood Residential Services, the in-house management company for Wood Partners. With WRS, Robyn oversaw 4 stabilized properties in the Houston and San Antonio markets, as well as, 4 development/pre-lease up properties in Houston and Denver. Robyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Houston.
Regional Vice President
Clint has served in the property management industry since 1985 managing Class A+, A, B, C, rehabs, brand new construction, lease ups, trouble shoot property & portfolio "turn arounds", 55+ and 62+ Senior communities, garden style, hi rise, quad, scattered sites, Tax Credit and affordable properties. His properties have included Fee and Owner management throughout Texas markets such as Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, El Paso, Amarillo, and national markets such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Denver, Las Vegas, Kansas City, St. Louis, New Mexico, South Carolina, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Since 1985 Clint has supervised over 50,000 units in total with several great companies in a variety of positions - (Principal, Regional Vice President, Regional Manager, Regional Trainer & Marketing, District Manager and Property Manager).
Mr. Thomas has a Bachelor of Science in Management and Business Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and is a Certified Occupancy Specialists. Mr. Thomas is committed to the hiring and retaining of the best talent, recognizing our business is to serve our owners, meet their goals, provide excellent service for our residents, develop and support our Portico team members, faithfully. As Principal at Portico he is charged with ensuring that we treat each property as if it were our own.
Regional Vice President
Julie currently serves as a Regional Vice President for Portico Property Management, overseeing three Texas markets. Assets include new construction and renovations. Prior to joining Portico, Mrs. Agne-Highsmith served as a Regional Manager for Embrey Management Services specializing in management of Class A assets and new construction. Before joining EMS in July 2011, she was a Regional Director for Verde Apartment Communities in which she oversaw new construction and stabilized Class A assets in 3 major markets. From 2004-2011, Julie served as a Regional Manager at CNC Investments where she oversaw 2800 units in the San Antonio and Austin markets. Mrs. Agne-Highsmith oversaw the renovations on her portfolio as well as led due-diligence teams during her tenure. Prior to CNC Investments, Mrs. Agne-Highsmith had served as a Community Manager for several 400+ unit assets and as a Regional Trainer for Central and South Texas for EPT (now TVO). She specializes in multi-family construction, lease-ups, and team building.
Julie joined the SAAA Board of Directors in 2011 where she has chaired multiple committees including Community Relations and Education. She is now serving as the SAAA Secretary on the 2015 Executive Board of Directors. Serving our industry and community is a true passion for Julie.
She is now serving as the President-Elect in 2017 for the San Antonio Apartment Association.
Barbara Moffitt, CAPS
Regional Vice President
Ms. Moffitt currently oversees assets located in Chicago, Boulder, CO, Houston and Washington DC. Ms. Moffitt has over 25 years experience in the multifamily housing industry including oversight of new construction, conventional, affordable, senior, garden style and high rise assets of all classes including value-add renovations and repositioning projects. Through her inspirational leadership, some of the most impressive success stories for property turn-around performance in the industry have been realized.
Ms. Moffitt has supervised diverse portfolios of up to 6,000 units in 12 different states; working for both fee managed and owner managed companies. She has utilized her expertise to assemble motivated teams that consistently exceed measurable performance to surpass expectations and has been recognized for her innovative bottom line improvement strategies.
With Barbara’s extensive experience in apartment operations including acquisition and disposition procedures, budgeting, financial analysis, human resources, strategic planning and marketing, she is uniquely qualified to aid owners and asset managers to accomplish the goals established for the communities under her leadership.
Heather currently serves as a Regional Director for Portico Property Management overseeing the Houston market. Mrs. Richardson began her multifamily career in 2003 as a Leasing Consultant with EPT Management (currently TVO) and then served as Community Manager for them at several communities in the Lubbock, Dallas and Houston area between 2003 and 2009. Properties under her management included garden style Class A to Class C both Owner and Fee managed. Prior to joining Portico, she served as District Manager for Camden Property Trust overseeing 7 Class A and B communities in the Atlanta area including repositions totaling over 2100 units. During her tenure with Camden she also served as Community Manager at 5 Houston communities, ranging in size from 300 to 756 units which included high rise and garden style. Before joining Camden in October 2011, she was a Community Manager for Verde Apartment Communities where she oversaw a 300 unit Class A garden style community in Katy, TX.
Heather has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Texas Tech University and her passion is building and maintaining great teams.
Jeff joined Portico Property Management in 2017 and serves as a Regional Director, overseeing portfolio operations in the Houston, TX market. Jeff is a seasoned real estate professional with more than 20 years of industry experience. Proficient in new-construction lease-up, asset renovations/repositions and core process enhancement, he is a results-oriented leader who has a proven ability to build exceptional teams and yield outstanding results.
Prior to joining Portico, Jeff served as Regional Director for W3 Luxury Living from 2013 to 2017, overseeing operations of new construction lease-up communities in the Houston market. Before this, he served as a Community Manager for assets ranging from 100 units to multiple locations in excess of 800 units. Jeff has maintained his CAM designation with the National Apartment Association since 2005 and is currently a CPM candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Mrs. Morkovsky currently oversees several multifamily apartment communities in South Central Texas and North Carolina. Mrs. Morkovsky has over 18 years’ experience in the multifamily housing industry, which includes new construction, conventional, managing operations of a Midrise, repositioning, renovations and student housing. Kara Morkovsky began her career in property management in 1998 with SCG Realty which became Archstone Communities and had the pleasure of working with both fee managed and owner managed companies such as Equity Residential and Lincoln Property Company. Kara also served as an Advanced Certified Field Trainer and Mentor for her past employers, where she was able to help demonstrate her passion for employee success and career advancement. Mrs. Morkovsky has a strong background in property renovations and repositioning, dispositions, team building/leadership, customer concentrated satisfaction ratings as well as high attention to detail in regards to overall property performance.
Keshia currently serves as a Regional Director for Portico Property Management overseeing several communities in the Houston market. Ms. Jordan has over 17 years’ experience in the multifamily industry, which includes new construction, conventional, dispositions, renovations, and student housing. Keshia began her career in 2001 in Lubbock, TX with EPT Management Company (currently TVO) as a leasing professional and quickly advanced to management positions within TVO and later with Greystar, Capstone, and Sun Ridge Property Management Company in Lubbock, TX. After moving to Houston in 2013, she served as a Community Manager for Camden Property Trust managing several Class A communities. During her tenure with Camden, Ms. Jordan served as a Community Manager at 3 Houston communities varying in size which included garden and midrise style communities in various submarkets within the city.
Keshia has a Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University along with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. Keshia’s passion is her people. She believes strongly in building and developing her teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and continual growth of overall property performance.
