Portico was founded in 2011 with only one goal in mind…to be the best management company in the country.

That’s it. It may sound grandiose or arrogant…but it’s not meant to be. We just don’t understand why anyone would start something like this and not want to be the very best. And what’s more…we actually think it’s possible.

Because we founded this company on one premise. We take care of you!

Who We Are

We don't want to be big, we don't want 200,000 units, we don't want to be in all 50 states. We want to be a great company, not a big company...and we don't think you can be both. You have to choose. We're committed to staying local and small so that we can actually be involved with each and every property. Think a company with over 100,000 units can say that?

We are focused on growing slowly and strategically and are looking for owner/clients who are tired of feeling like their management company has too much going on to spend the necessary time on their properties. Clients who want an owner-focused approach and a team that is more concerned about today’s client than tomorrow’s.

Today, Portico manages approximately 10000 units across 40 properties with focused expansion in the metropolitan areas of Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Nashville and Phoenix the greater Southwest. We succeed by hiring the very best teams and controlling every juncture of the management process. Portico maintains the fiduciary discipline of an investment management company and the agility of a privately held operator. As a single company, Portico has the ability to manage the entire real estate process—acquisitions, construction, development, asset management, finance, property management, disposition and relationship/investor management—while adding value at every juncture. The seamless integration of these many disciplines ensures that company, investor and resident expectations are set, managed and exceeded throughout the life of the investment.
